Biography:

The girl who actually wanted to be a doctor landed as a wonderful actress in Bollywood.  She was born to a Bengali family. She was both to a Bengali Family in New Delhi.

Till 12th standard she was enrolled in Science bag round. But she switched her interest to Commerce later. After acquiring a degree in Commerce she planned to be a Chartered Accountant but ended up being the Ford Supermodel of the World when she was just 17 years old. In a interview she confessed that she wanted to be a Doctor.

Bipasha is the second of three sisters, born and brought up in a Hindu Bengali family, she is fluent in Hindi, English, and Bengali. The names of her sisters are Bidisha and Bijoyeta.

After her triumph as the Ford Supermodel, she went on to be crowned Miss Vivacious sponsored by Tulips.

This model turned actress got her first break with Abbas Mastan. In 2001 Bipasha made her acting debut into Bollywood with 'Ajnabee' and subsequently acquired a place for herself in the tinsel world. She went to star in 'Raaz', 'Jism', 'No Entry', 'Phir Herapheri', 'Corporate' &'Dhoom 2'. All of these movies did fairly well at the box office, and escalated her position as not only a leading lady, but one who can dare to bare. 'Dhoom 2' also credits her as a playback singer.


In 2005 and 2007, UK magazine Eastern Eye named Basu the "Sexiest Woman in Asia.

She was last seen in Dum Maro Dum (2010). Now she is busy with the post production of her upcoming film Players (2011)

Personal Life:

Basu was in a relationship with actor John Abraham for eight long years from 2002 to 2011. She previously dated Bollywood actor Dino Morea. After her break up with John it was heard that she was dating Josh Hartnett when they were shooting for Singularity.

Controversy:

She was in controversy when a leading publication released the tapes of her conversation between the politician Amar Singh and herself.  The tape reveals about the actress is clearly explicit with Singh mentioning that ‘age matters between the legs’ in reply to Bipasha’s comment on his age.

Although it hasn’t been verified if the caller is actually actress Bipasha Basu or not, her name is mentioned in the conversation with Singh.

She was in controversy for various reasons. Bips ad for lotto, has heated up the cyber world completely. The actor is topless in this ad. The ad also features Vivek Oberoi. Shot in India, the ad was directed by Ken Nahoum and art direction by illustrator Tommy Kane. Bipasha had done this ad in 1999 when she was with Ford Modelling Agency in New York. It was an international assignment and was meant for the international market. In terms of Indian standards, the ad is very bold and will surely be rejected by the audiences.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been photographed kissing Bipasha Basu at a Portuguese nightclub. The Man United ace was reportedly getting very cosy with the supermodel at a VIP bash held after the new Seven Wonders of the World ceremony in Lisbon.

Bipasha’s fashion sense and style statement is unquestionable. And she personifies the physical qualities of an attractive woman. Bipasha has also been open to experiments and is always willing to try out something new when it comes to her looks and character in films.
